Extra informatie
Following the success of his Cloudless Amsterdam series, Peter Elenbaas is publishing Cloudless Rotterdam, with impressive aerial views of the Netherlands’ second largest city. Surprisingly, it is the many skyscrapers in the city that really come into their own, because the bird’s eye view captures architectural details that make little impression at street level.
Elenbaas’s photographs reveal a metropolis of contrasts, in which the Market Hall, built in 2014 and already famous, stands beside St Lawrence’s Church, the city’s sole surviving medieval building.
There is the New Maas with the iconic Erasmus Bridge and Piet Blom’s Cube Houses above Blaak, but Cloudless Rotterdam would not be complete without the districts of Charlois, Spangen and Katendrecht. Just outside the city are even more contrasts in Brielle, the Hook of Holland and Kinderdijk.
Peter Elenbaas is a freelance photographer. He has published seven Cloudless Amsterdam books, and published aerial photos of Groningen and Wadden Islands.
